Professor Emeritus at the Department of Mechanical and Process Engineering
Additional information
Research area
His main research area is on reactive thermofluidics in energy conversion with emphasis on both non-intrusive diagnostics and advanced simulation methods. His work aims at interfacing fundamental knowledge with industrial relevance in the field of reactive energy systems.
During the last 10 years, he became increasingly interested in modelling and optimization of energy systems including policy advice on Energy and Transport related Strategy Development and Implementation.
Konstantinos Boulouchos holds a diploma (NTU Athens) and a doctoral degree (ETH Zürich) in Mechanical Engineering. After a postdoctoral stay at Princeton University, he joined ETH Zürich as Research Group Leader at the institute of Energy Technology. In 1955 he became Head of the Combustion Research Laboratory at PSI and 2002 he has been appointed Full Professor at ETH Zürich.
