Seed Projects
The Energy Fund of the ETH Zürich Foundation funds seed projects, a process which is coordinated by the ESC.
This funding opportunity for postdoctoral projects of up to one year is financed with a maximum budget of 100’000 CHF per project from thematic funds of the external page ETH Zurich Foundation.
General guidelines relating to the submitting of proposals for consideration are available at ETH Zurich Seed Projects.
Researchers previously awarded a seed project grant are not eligible to submit further proposals.
Topics for the Energy Fund Seed Project Proposals
The following thematic priority areas have been selected: however, this list is not exhaustive and other topics within the range of Energy may be submitted for consideration. Creativity and novelty, as well as scientific quality, are important criteria for the selection.
- Energy storage (Electricity, Heat, Chemicals)
- Energy systems, business models, energy policy, environmental solutions
- Building technologies (efficiency, control, metering)
- “Internet of things” (applications in power generation, transmission or distribution)
The 2015 Download Call for Seed Projects of the Energy Fund (PDF, 235 KB) of ETH Zürich Foundation is closed. It commenced in Spring 2015 and details of the projects that have been chosen will be available shortly.
