Energy Now!
An Impact Accelerator by ETH Zurich
What is “Energy Now!” about?
Energy Now! is a unique program that bridges the gap between academia and private and public actors by challenging students to develop creative, impactful solutions for energy-related problems. Building upon the success of the two previous editions (autumn 2022 and autumn 2023), the third edition of this initiative focuses on synergizing technology, policy, and artificial intelligence to enhance energy efficiency.
By fostering collaboration among diverse stakeholders, including researchers, policymakers, and industry experts, the program aims to develop innovative solutions applicable at local and national levels. Participants are empowered to explore cutting-edge technologies, develop data-driven strategies, and shape policy frameworks, all with the goal of propelling Switzerland towards a more resilient and sustainable energy future. By providing a platform for interdisciplinary exchange, mentorship, and collaboration, Energy Now! 3.0 serves as a catalyst for innovation, driving positive change in energy efficiency and resource management.
Initiatives like Energy Now! 3.0 play a crucial role in advancing Switzerland's energy objectives, aligning with strategic frameworks such as the Energieperspektiven. This national energy strategy emphasizes the need for innovation, efficiency, and resilience across all facets of the energy landscape. It sets ambitious goals for enhancing energy efficiency, reducing carbon emissions, and promoting renewable energy sources, all while ensuring the reliability and affordability of the energy supply. How is Switzerland prepared to take on these new challenges?
