ESC welcomes Adrienne Grêt-Regamey, Viola Becattini and Paolo Gabrielli as new members
The Energy Science Center (ESC) is delighted to welcome Prof. Adrienne Grêt-Regamey, Dr. Viola Becattini and Dr. Paolo Gabrielli as new members of the competence center.
Prof. Adrienne Grêt-Regamey
Prof. Adrienne Grêt-Regamey is an environmental scientist and landscape planner. She has been Professor at the Chair of Planning Landscape and Urban Systems at the Institute for Spatial and Landscape Development since 2008. Currently, her research focuses on understanding how the interactions and/or actions of humans shape landscapes at various temporal and spatial scales, using different land-use decision models in forecasting and backcasting modes.
Dr. Viola Becattini
Dr. Viola Becattini is senior scientist at the Separation Processes Laboratory and project manager of the ETH Zurich pilot project DemoUpCARMA (Demonstration and Upscaling of CARbon dioxide MAnagement solutions for a net-zero Switzerland). Her research focuses on CO2 capture, transport and storage systems, and on climate-neutral industrial sectors.
Dr. Paolo Gabrielli
Dr. Paolo Gabrielli works as senior scientist at the Reliability and Risk Engineering Laboratory. His research deals with the transition to net-zero emissions and the optimisation of net-zero energy systems. He focuses on distributed energy systems, energy storage and integrated energy, hydrogen and carbon supply chains. He combines research on optimal system design with the techno-economic assessment of technologies enabling net-zero emissions in industry sectors.
